When it comes to sharing the gospel, something that has really helped me become more effective is what Dallin H. Oaks taught us about the seven motives we might have for doing something. The problem was, I found that was acting out of duty/desire for blessings, especially when we were street contacting. I always felt awkward and it was hard to find the words to say. Remembering the counsel from that talk, however, I decided to change by changing my motives. Now I simply think about how much I love God and His merciful plan, and my sincere desire to help others understand and take advantage of it too. Can I say my fears are gone in sharing the gospel? Absolutely, simply because they’ve lost their meaning.
Wow General Conference was awesome. Better than Christmas because after one full day there was still one more!!! I almost jumped out of my chair when Elder Ballard invited every member to reach out to a friend to share the gospel before Christmas. This is going to bless the lives of millions of people!!!
I think the biggest change that has occurred in me as a result is that my invitations are less like , “Come to church because it’s true.” but more like, “This is something I want to share with you because I know it will help you.”
I got a call from our mission president this morning! I am going to be training a new missionary for the next three months!!
I love you all!
