Week 14: I Have a Story!

Story Time!! Yesterday we had a family home evening planned with a really strong family, and we invited a part member family. Well, the part member family couldn’t come last minute and it was time for the FHE to start! Sister Gomez and I ran searching for ANYONE to invite and ended up knocking on the door of a recently activated member! He said he would come! When we were leaving his house these words popped out– “Tiene un amigo que podemos invitar?” (Do you have a friend we could invite?) and he said yes! So we went to find his friend and his friend accepted our invitation! The FHE went great, we dicussed the Doctrine of Jesus Christ (faith, repentance, baptism, recieving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and perservering to the end) and the friend said, “Me siento una paz, algo que no puedo explicar. Pero yo se que estas cosas son verdaderas.” WOW! He said he felt a peace, something that he couldn’t explain, but he knew the things we were talking about were true! The spirit was so strong, and then we invited him to be baptized and he said yes! Within 20 minutes of us meeting him!  Everything happened just so perfectly, I can not stop smiling that I got to witness this miracle!

Things are going so great! I am growing and learning so much! Yesterday also we had an awesome Stake Conference! Elder Scott and Elder Bednar came, and a Sister from the new General Relief Society Presidency! Elder Scott speaks Castellano really well! They all spoke with great authority and were very direct, yet full of love somehow. That´s how I want to teach! I am doing everything I can to apply what they taught and how they taught it!

This church is true! That’s the simplest way I can express that I know that it really does teach the principles we need to live and provide the ordinances we need to recieve in order for us to receive salvation at the end of this life and, what’s more, the best possible life right now! I don’t think I’ll ever get sick of telling that to people who don’t know about it yet!
Thank you for your emails and thoughts and prayers!!
